October Soul goes beyond blues. High energy by nature, they showcase their own original work, along with a set list packed with country and rock. Sometimes unplugged, their acoustic work explodes with just as much intensity.
Formed in October 2009, the Soul's all-star line-up consists of multi-award winning vocalist Jamie Brace (Red Sage), veteran guitarist Joe Barborich (Red Sage, formerly The Katz Sass), bassist Tony Bremer (Red Sage), the musical guru Chris Boyden and Steve Campeau on drums and percussion.
October Soul is a proud member of the Grafton Blues Association and the Wisconsin Area Music Industry.
Jamie Brace, the proud recipient of the Shepherd Express 2007 Best Female Vocalist Award and 2010 WAMI Female Vocalist of the Year Nominee, is also the lead vocalist for Red Sage.
Jamie’s voice has been compared to the likes of Susan Tedeschi and Janis Joplin, but certainly she has a style true to her own. Jamie brings power, passion and feeling to every note she sings.
Joe Barborich, When he isn't tearing it up with October Soul he is slammin' and jammin' with the Country/Rock band Red Sage. Joe is also the former lead guitarist for Katz Sass who was voted runner up for Milwaukee’s Best Blues Band in the 2008 Shepard Express. He has opened for many national acts such as Aerosmith and Lenny Kravitz.
Tony Bremer has been playing the Midwest all the way from the Canadian border to Missouri the last several years. He studied under Jeff Berlin in Tampa, Florida then played and recorded in the Minneapolis music scene for the better part of a decade. His basslines have been heard on several albums on radio stations across the country and he has played stages big and small across the Midwest all the way from a dirt floor in Fargo to Country USA main stage. He has opened for such groups as Buck Cherry, Taylor Swift, Jimmy Wayne, Default,and Vanilla Ice, that's right, Vanilla Ice! When Tony isn't laying the bass lines down with October Soul, he jams in the Country/Rock band Red Sage.
Chris Boyden has been astounding viewers since 1984 with his virtuosity, diversity and style. While singing lead and background vocals Chris performs on Guitar, Mandolin, Keyboard and Harmonica. He started working professionally in the music business at the age of 17. Since then he has worked in some of the finest recording studios and concert venues throughout Milwaukee, Chicago, Los Angeles and New York City. Chris has had the pleasure to have worked on stage and in the studio with famous artists like Joey Molland from Badfinger and Danny and the Juniors, famous for their 50's hit,"At The Hop".
Steve, a self taught drummer, who is proficient in a variety of styles, has been playing drums for over 30 years. His musical influences include Neil Peart, Dave Weckl, and Simon Phillips, to name a few. Steve has an appreciation for many different genres of music. For him, it’s all about timing and dynamics.
